I am a designer working with Afghan & Islamic architecture, visual/material cultures, and technology. This work manifests itself through practice and theory; outputs such as archives, graphics, exhibitions, publications, objects, and software build relationships to define historical pasts and speculative futures. I teach design at the California College of the Arts, designed at cultural institutions such as the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, and studied design at UC Davis. I am currently a graduate student pursuing a Master of Design at the UC Berkeley College of Environmental Design.

• Showed jainamaaz in Vienna for Between Worlds: Technology, Spirit & The Digital South
• Invited to speak about Afghan design and Farsi typography in Brooklyn at the Day of Translation organized by the Center for Fiction
• Began a Master of Design at the UC Berkeley College of Environmental Design
• Taught *Interactive Media & the* *MFA Design graduate exhibition website* at CCA Spring 2024
• Published the most beautiful Islamic prayer time app on the app store under CamlCorp

• Taught *Web 2 Print* at CCA Fall 2023
• Published an essay on mosque architecture in America.
• Taught the MFA Design graduate exhibition website class at CCA.
• Published my first Farsi-Arabic script typeface titled Bamyan.
• Taught MFA Design students at CCA Fall 2022 through the course Web 2 Print how to program and design in the browser with Jon Sueda.
• Designed and programmed Flags of Afghanistan, a visual research project analyzing the design history of Afghanistan’s flags.
• Invited as a guest lecturer to Dr James Housefield’s Design Aesthetics & Experience course at UC Davis.
• Designed and programmed Marcaz, a digital center for Afghan visual and digital cultural research.
• Invited as a guest critic to Brett Snyder's Letterforms and Typography course at UC Davis.
• Programmed a simple & thoughtful menu bar timer app. →
• Programmed a website that places the user on an abstracted prayer rug, in a panoramic landscape, facing the physical direction of Qiblah. →
• Published an essay for the Are.na annual titled *Tools for Cultural Production: Archiving Voice, Culture, and Community.*
• Designed an identity for upstate New York VC firm Armory Square Ventures.
• Invited as a guest lecturer and critic to Shiraz Gallab's Interactive and Experience Design course at SUNY Purchase.
• Designed the identity for Latinoamérica film festival and platform CiNEOLA with Habib Placencia. Programmed the website with Jacob Martinez.
• Designed the identity for CCS Bard graduate student Muheb Esmat's thesis exhibition No End in Sight.
